Maria has more than 15 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, and finance. She has been working in fast-growing companies both in private sector and non-profit organizations in major roles as Controller, Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer.  Throughout Maria’s career, she has been involved with financial statement preparation and consolidation, financial analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, accounting system and internal control implementation, and external and internal auditing. She has in-depth knowledge of loan receivables, cash, investments and will manage the Tribe’s financial statement audit with a focus on not just getting through the audit, but making recommendations as well.

Having vast experience and extensive knowledge in accounting, auditing, and finance, Maria is able to provide insight into innovative and cost-effective solutions to improve operational processes, internal control, and procedures. By identifying and applying uniquely tailored solutions, Maria enables decision makers and respected leaders to have the financial information needed to make impactful decisions for stakeholders. Listening to the clients in order to understand their concerns and needs is a trait that makes her a valuable asset to the audit team.

Robert is a tax professional who specializes in international taxation and multi-jurisdictional compliance needs.

His career spans the international tax departments of small and large firms, both in the US and abroad. He also held financial and managerial positions in private for-profit and non-profit organizations. Finally, he is frequently invited to contribute on development projects and grant requests.

Professional Experience

Joseph is our Tribal Gaming Specialist.  With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Joseph has held multiple Director-level positions, overseeing regulatory compliance for some of the largest tribal casinos in the states, including the Sycuan Casino in Southern California, the Osage Casinos in Oklahoma, and the Poarch Creek Band of Indians’ owned casinos in Alabama.

He has traveled throughout the states as well as abroad to speak at various engagements and is our expert on matters involving tribal gaming.
